Letter from the New Hope's Treasures Sterling Thrift Store Manager
Dear Friends,
I am very happy to be working as the new Manager of Hope's Treasures Thrift
Store in Sterling VA. There has been tremendous positive change in many
areas of the store since I started working here a few months ago. The store
has totally been reorganized with many new improvements and new employees as
well.
Hope's Treasures which is over 6,000 square feet now has brand new frontal
exterior lighted signage installed on the front of the building with our
Good Shepherd Alliance logo to let everyone know where we are located. The
interior of the store has been redesigned and reorganized with a new floor
layout plan separating the various specialty sections for easy shopping.
Brand new carpet has been installed which gives a fresh and clean
professional look inside of the store.
All of interior walls have received a fresh coat of paint. Eight new Good
Shepherd Alliance banners are being hung along the interior walls to inform
our customers about how we help the homeless and other people in need from
our community. We are constantly getting new items from gracious people
that are so kind to give their donations to us so we can ultimately sell the
products to help people. We periodically have special sales so shoppers can
get great deals on unique and collectible items.
The employees who work here are doing a fantastic job working together as a
team to keep everything running very smoothly and efficiently to make our
customers shopping experience very pleasant. We also have many great
volunteers from our community to assist us here daily doing a great job to
make a huge difference. Our key staff members, Board of Directors and
members of our Advisory Board all contribute much time and exhaustive
efforts to help us to be successful. We now have a newly designed website
so people can read about how we help the community
(www.goodshepherdalliance.org).
Sales have been steadily increasing with a noticeable increase in our
customers. Hope's Treasure retail Thrift Store is a major source of revenue
for The Good Shepherd Alliance, Inc which is a Christian non-profit
organization providing emergency shelter for the homeless and transitional
housing and outreach services in Loudoun County. In addition, the thrift
store provides much-needed clothing and household items to needy individuals
and families through our voucher programs.
I feel fortunate and blessed to be working with such a great organization
that is focused on ultimately helping people in need. I will continue to
work towards making Hope's Treasures Thrift store the best it can be always
keeping one thing in mind. '...with God all things are possible.' Matthew
19:26 / Mark 10:27. Thank you Jesus!
Keep the faith,
Dan Himmel
